The Christian The Lion Video is a Fake and a Hoax, and is not Real.
The Christian The Lion Video is Fake.
The Christian The Lion Video is not real. The Christian The Lion Video is a hoax.
How many different ways can we phrase it? There are probably many more ways, but I digress.
Kind of like Santa Claus or Easter Bunny or World Peace.
How is it fake, you ask? First, lets look at the video:
VIDEO
A number of skeptical thoughts come to mind:
- UM HOW THE HECK DID THE LION NOT WANT TO EAT THE GUY’S FACE??!!! Wild animals are very territorial and would not tolerate strangers.
- Trained Animals - We cannot rule out the possibility that these animals are trained to do this.
- They bought it at a department store.. WTH
- Fake Antiquity The video could be staged for the story and edited with modern CGI to make it look old.
- Wildlife preserve - If they’re in a preserve, it is is not really considered the “WILD”.. its a preserve under surveillance of humans. There is a constant interaction with humans (relative to being truly ‘wild’). It’s a glorified zoo.
- Might not be “Christian” - Could be, but probably isn’t… again, probably a trained animal.
- CATNIP - Can’t lions smell catnip from miles away? Whats to stop us from assuming that these hippies didn’t pack an ounce of ‘nip to coax our Lion Friend
- Who Is The Other Guy - If you’ve seen the longer video , you’ve seen this other older guy. What is he doing? He’s not afraid at all.. of WILD lions! Would he act this way if it were a feat of some sort to see/interact with these lions?
- No one is protected - No protection equates to either stupidity or lack of threat.. I’m banking on the latter… making this interaction much less amazing.
In summary, there’s a lot to question about the legitimacy of this vid. Even if it is real, its not that big a deal.
What is this video really about?
Incredible marketing ploy
We see some heart-wrenching vids of the cute baby lion..and a little bit of ’softening’ up with the backstory in subtitles. Also some sappy/crappy Aerosmith song that is better suited for a slow-dance at a gradeschool mixer.
If you notice in the youtube video description, we see plugs for :
- Virginia McKenna’s Book “Christian The Lion’s Journey To Freedom”
- The DVD “Christian The Lion At World’s End” (VHS Version here)
-

And a number of other garbage. It’s always something, eh?
So,
I feel like there’s some underlying purpose for releasing this Vid now. Seems like a marketing scheme or ploy. It could be, or it could be legit. I’m claiming its a scheme.
